At the Fedscoop 50 awards held on Oct 4th, 2016 at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington DC, the Commerce Data Academy won the award for the Tech Program of the Year.

The Tech Program of the Year award celebrates the best examples of influential tech programs that have led to cost savings, efficiencies and partnerships between agencies.

The Commerce Data Academy (CDA) was launched in January 2016 as an initiative to provide Commerce employees with data science skills for the information age. As of June 1st, 2015, over three thousand Commerce employees have acquired new skills, thirty people have attended data-intensive bootcamps and fourteen people are producing data products for their home bureaus (while in the In-Residence program).

Fedscoop received thousands of nominations this year and more than 337,000 votes.

Congrats to Natassja and the rest of the Commerce Data Service team. The CDA could not be in better hands.
