At the Fedscoop 50 awards held on Oct 4th, 2016 at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington DC, the Commerce Data Usability Project won the award for Innovation of the Year.

The Innovation of the Year award celebrates the impactful technologies implemented this year that may have been unfathomable until recently.

The Commerce Data Usability Project (CDUP) is a collection of interactive data guides for high-valued data sets from the Department of Commerce — lowering the barrier to entry for individuals and companies that want to create businesses from Federal open data, accelerate the growth of their own business operations, or solve their own specific problems. It is being used by companies and individuals to speed up their data product development cycles by an order of magnitude.

Fedscoop received thousands of nominations this year and more than 337,000 votes.

Congrats to Star and the rest of the Commerce Data Service. CDUP could not be in better hands.
